Pictures: A Trip to the Como Zoo in St. Paul

Pictures: A Trip to the Como Zoo in St. Paul

At the spur of the moment we decided to go to the zoo when Chris got home from school this afternoon. We navigated our way there with no mistakes thanks to MapQuest – actually a pleasant drive. Marissa liked the animals. She was excited when we saw a “chippy” (squirrel) driving into the zoo, so it didn’t take much to impress her! We walked through the gardens at the Conservatory too – including an outdoor Japanese garden. Marissa liked this garden because we walked on stones across a little stream with fish in it. Marissa was also very particular regarding her stroller – she didn’t want to ride in it, and she was the only one who could push it! This made for a slow stroll around the grounds, but it was fun!

Here is a link to the website for the zoo: Como Zoo

Pictures: Kramp family goes to the park

Today we took Marissa to the park in the Hyland Park Preserve. It was a very nice day out today, and we all had a good time. These pictures are all from today.

I have been learning to jog, so we have also been going for "run-walks" the last few days. Whenever we start jogging Marissa says "Yay Mommy!" (Chris may have influenced her in this...) I have to admit though it is a nice encouragement.

Picture: Marissa's 2nd Haircut

We took Marissa to the mall on Saturday for her second haircut. This one did not go so well. We had to wait about half an hour before she could get in, and in that time she got upset about something - so she cried the whole time she had the haircut. :-(

We took this picture Sunday morning - which is why she is happy!

The longest thundershower...

It has been an interesting couple of weather days.

A severe thundershower started here yesterday at 5pm, and it's still going!

The power has gone off once, we have had hail a few times, the thunder gets loud and then fades and then gets loud again, and the rain has been pretty constant.

There is now a flash flooding warning for our area, but it is still a high of 31. Looks like Winnipeg is getting some of it too. ;-)

The best thing is that Marissa was able to sleep through it all.

Another interesting weather note: when we left New Liskeard the leaves on the trees were already changing colour, and in Winnipeg too, but here everything is still green. I find it amazing.

Home again, home again...

Well, we are back in Bloomington. :-)

Our travels started yesterday morning at 5:30, when we drove from New Liskeard to Toronto. We then caught a plane at 12:50 and landed in Winnipeg around 3. We left Winnipeg this morning at 10:30 and have just arrived home.

All of our travelling went really well - no problems at all.

Marissa didn't remember our place, and didn't want to be left by herself. She is thrilled to have a room full of "new" toys though... ;-)

Well, we have to get her to bed now, but I will post some pictures soon...

Chris made it safely to Winnipeg - and has managed to get in two rounds of golf already...

The good news is that he will be in New Liskeard (where we are) tomorrow night!!!!!

Pictures: August Long Weekend in Kirkland Lake

Marissa and I went to visit Chris's mom Debbie in Kirkland Lake last weekend. We had a good time! We also saw Grandma Reid, and Mike & Kristi came up from Winnipeg on Friday. Here are some pictures from Debbie's camera:
